The Generals Hub: IV GT Huertano – Singles

Hello, Generals!

Another GT is coming up in Spain! This weekend, two major events will be taking place at the same time: the GT de la Letanía del Oso, in Madrid, and the fourth edition of the GT Huertano, in Murcia, this time in its Singles format.

Miguel, from La Escotilla, has trusted us to publish the army lists and battleplans for the GT. We’ll also take the opportunity to share some interesting facts and stats about the event.

Let’s get into it!

GT Metrics

For this GT, Miguel has chosen to follow the metrics recommended by Games Workshop for individual events, which will determine the players’ final standings in the following order:

Players

20 players will battle it out this weekend in pursuit of Huertano glory.

Among the highest-ranked players at the event according to the ITC rankings, we have Abraham Martínez, from Disfunción Mágica, who currently sits in the national Top 4; Óscar Bachatero, from PAPUA UAT; and Ignacio Cueto, from DKHM, rounding out the tournament’s Top 3.

But that’s not all. We also have names such as Pau Ferrer, José Carlos Lledó, Mario Jimijack, and Adonis Lafarga — players who are very active within the community and no strangers to strong results.

So we’ll definitely be keeping a close eye on what happens in Murcia this weekend!

Factions

This is where we can see how each region’s local meta can influence faction representation, especially at a GT where most of the field is made up of local players.

It’s quite surprising to see Kharadron Overlords as the most represented army at the tournament. Within the Grand Alliance of Order, representation is fairly spread out among some of the armies currently achieving the best results.

The low representation of Death armies is also particularly striking.

Looking at Destruction, it’s interesting to see only one Ogor Mawtribes player, especially considering the strong results the faction has been achieving internationally.

Finally, in Chaos, all three armies currently sitting near the top of the meta are represented at the tournament.

Tactics

Blazing Onslaught and Siege of Ashes continue to be the most prevalent formations in the meta, and it seems very likely that this will remain the case for the rest of the season.

When it comes to formation combinations, we see a similar trend: Blazing Onslaught + Siege of Ashes clearly stands above the rest, followed by Blazing Onslaught + Burning.

Units

With so many Kharadron Overlords around, how could the Skywardens not be the most-used unit at the GT!

The Freeguild Cavaliers take second place, followed by another healthy dose of Kharadron units.

From there, we find a real mix of units: eels, Askurgans, Steelhelms, spear-wielding cohorts, and Plaguebearers. A little bit of everything among the most-used units at the tournament!

Prizes

As for the prizes, there will be raffles for store vouchers and Age of Sigmar boxes, while the winners will receive trophies and special prizes.

In addition, every player will receive a Welcome Pack for taking part in the event.

So no one will be going home empty-handed!

Miguel has chosen them with great care and even spent quite a while considering whether to include Hidden Under Ash-Clouds for Round 5…

In the end, he decided against it to avoid being publicly executed in the town square for such an act of terrorism.
